Helping little learners get ready for big school adventures
A school readiness group for children aged 4 in the year before Prep, developed and run by our speech pathology and occupational therapy team. Every skill little learners need to thrive in the classroom, all in one group.
Is your child ready for the big school leap? Starting school is a nervous system transition, not just an academic milestone.
School readiness is more than letters and numbers
Joy on the surface, clinical intention underneath. We support the real skills that carry a child through a school day: managing transitions, following routines, holding a pencil, asking for help, and staying regulated in a busy room. Structured, low-pressure and neuroaffirming.
How it works
- Small groups of 4 to 6 children, put together thoughtfully so every child is a good fit
- 10 structured sessions, each opening and closing with a song, with movement, craft, stories and play in between
- Run by Ella, psychology graduate and key worker who specialises in literacy, and Kate, occupational therapist, and developed with Haylee, our founder and speech pathologist
What it supports
- Ready Hands: pencil grasp, cutting, drawing, colouring and getting dressed
- Ready Readers: rhyming, sounds, letters, listening and story time
- Ready Minds: attention, memory, problem solving and following instructions
- Ready Friends: turn taking, sharing, conversation and asking for help
- Ready Bodies: balance, core strength, coordination and motor planning
Who it may suit
- Children aged 4 in their pre-prep year, preparing for the move to big school
- Kids building speech, language, attention or early social skills
- Families who want one group that covers the whole picture, not one skill at a time
NDIS funding may be used where the group aligns with the participant's goals and plan. Suitability screening may be required before enrolment. You don't need to be on the NDIS to join: if this is your space, you're welcome here.
